Context
Crypto on-ramp services often frustrate users with long sign-ups, confusing layouts, and surprise fees. RampNow is changing that. Our new widget makes converting fiat to crypto quick and easy, creating a seamless experience for everyone.
Design
Every function in its own place
This interface prioritizes simplicity and transparency, providing users with clear information about the exact amount in fiat they are paying and the corresponding amount of crypto they will receive.
Unlike other platforms, RampNow showcases a variety of options, such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, Visa, Mastercard, and open banking, directly on this screen, ensuring transparency. The “More payment methods” button provides flexibility without overwhelming the interface.






No fluff, consistent, clean UI
Crypto prices change fast, so we show the amount upfront, ensuring users know exactly what they’re paying and receiving. This prevents last-minute surprises and builds trust. Plus, displaying the wallet address lets users double-check for accuracy, adding a layer of security.
Design Decisions:
1. Users feel in control with clear pricing from start to finish.
2. Reduces the frustration caused by last-minute price changes.
3. Enhances trust by providing real-time information.
My profile
Showing users their KYC level and daily limit upfront ensures they know their transaction capacity. This helps them track their usage and encourages upgrading KYC for higher limits, reducing transaction restrictions.
Design Decisions:
Encourages Action: A clear CTA to upgrade KYC simplifies the process of increasing limits.

The process is clear and detailed when users are completely done with all the processes they will move to check the order status. They can track each stage of their transaction with precise updates, ensuring full transparency from start to finish.
Design Decision
1. We designed in such a way the user not only gets the complete details of the transaction with time and date but also with the current update on what is the cryptocurrency they bought to how long it would take to deposit the crypto
Payment section
We designed our interface to be straightforward and transparent. With flexible payment options and a quick, user-friendly design, even newcomers will find it simple to use. By entering the amount, the interface instantly calculates the crypto based on the latest rate, keeping users in full control.

Interviewing - stakeholders & Users

These sessions were crucial for gathering firsthand insights into their pain points and expectations. By speaking directly with them, I could understand their challenges and use this feedback to shape the product design to better meet their needs.

After completing user research, I analyzed how other crypto platforms displayed key elements like pricing, wallet addresses, and transactions. I looked for common patterns they used to guide users smoothly through the process. Noting both similarities and differences, I gathered insights to support my design decisions and improve the overall user experience."
Research
Narrow dowing the problem
After an in-depth study and discussions on the challenges faced by customers using fiat-to-crypto on-ramp services, we identified key issues that cause confusion and hinder user experience.
We decided to foucs on the following areas,

Many crypto platforms, like MoonPay and Wyre, struggle with complex onboarding, requiring users to fill out extensive forms, which leads to frustration and drop-offs. To tackle this, my product manager and I streamlined the user journey, collecting only essential information upfront. Users can now create an account quickly using just their email and OTP verification, enhancing engagement and reducing drop-off rates.






OUTCOMES
By reducing the onboarding steps, we managed to retain new users and significantly enhance the overall onboarding experience.
Most competitors stick to just Visa and MasterCard, but RampNow goes the extra mile with over 10 payment methods across the EU. Many platforms only show payment options at checkout, which can lead to hidden fees and frustration. We encountered a cramped UI, but after some brainstorming, we decided to enlarge the widget for a better fit. Now, all payment methods are easily accessible without clutter, creating a clean and user-friendly interface that keeps things transparent and simple.

After listening to users we uncovered some key issues in the fiat-to-crypto conversion process:
- Hidden Fees : Unexpected charges often appear at the last minute, leaving users frustrated.
- Payment Method Confusion: It's not always obvious which payment options come with extra fees.
- Value Uncertainty: The real-time value of cryptocurrencies can be confusing and unclear.
We’re here to change that! By addressing these challenges, we aim to create a straightforward and trustworthy experience that makes crypto easier for everyone.

We made sure to put this information upfront to make it easier for users to compare the fiat they're spending with the crypto they're receiving.

Design solutions have tradeoffs
